Autumn in Melbourne
I turned into our street a few nights ago and got a view of the whole street and was instantly struck by the changing colours of the trees. Autumn has arrived.
Although you wouldn’t know it as we’re experiencing intense heat. Today was forecast 40C – very hot! Where I live it actually got to 38.8 but within a space of a half hour between 6pm and 6.30pm it had dropped from 37.5 to 27.
For those in the US and elsewhere that use Farenheit and not Centrigrade, that equates to over 100 dropping to 80.6. Definitely a welcome change. I’ve thrown open all the doors to let the fresh air in.
Anyway, thought I’d share with you a photo or two of the maple tree in our front garden and the contrast of the oak tree and white ash in the back garden. The oak tree down the back has dropped heaps of leaves all over the ground but it still looks very green.
This blog has a new look! I'm experimenting. My name is Kathie and I'm an avid blogger and photographer.

Kathie I absolutely LOVE your blogs! Especially this and the garden blog. When i saw the maple trees I felt a real twinge of home-sickness for Parramata[Sydney's sister city]I saw the image of mum and I, both arm in arm, under my own little maple tree which stood in my front yard. How mum LOVED that tree! The picture had been taken around her birthday[April]that day, we’d all been to the Sydney Easter Show in Moore Park and were in high spirits! Alot of good memories came flowing back here mate, thanks for the post! [funny that this was taken around the same time?? lol]
